I have an OEM 05 STi cat and downpipe. I'm selling them separately but if you buy them both I'll give you a deal.

cat - $100

downpipe - $100

both - $175

If my prices are way too high let me know. I'm not here to rip anyone off.

OK thanks gabe. Maybe I'm better off scrapping them?

Any ideas for what scrap yards might take cats?

Yeah Lobstah that's what I was hoping for. I tried calling around last winter for cats but no one was taking them. I heard you could get $80 for some cats? I have three in the garage right now that I'd love to scrap.

I imagine they scrap for more than $35 a piece if that guy is buying everyones catted pipes and cutting them up for scrapping.

I'll call around. I'd rather chop off the flanges, keep them, and scrap them if they are worth more than going price scrapped.

they aren't going up anytime soon the subaru cats are consider low grade that's why a lot of people get the p?420 code the cat below efficiency

I typed poorly. What I meant is if someone is buying them on NASIOC at market price and sending them to a scrap yard, I should just do the same and get more for my money and time.

I take my scrap to:

E. Perry Iron & Metal Co., Inc.

115 Lancaster Street

Portland, ME 04101..........they're by Whole Foods in Portland.

They want $55 for both (over the phone)... which is ends up being a deal since I'd have to pay shipping to that guy on NASIOC.

We'll see when I actually go in.

$40 big subie cat

$20 small subie cat

$80 my old nissan cat???

So there you go guys, that's what I got in person at E Perry Iron + Metal Co

Do you still have the rear downpipe section with the cat? Mine is rusted out and looking to replace it. Where in Maine do you live, i'm in Portland so could we meet up? I'll give ya $40 for it.

sadly I already scrapped everything. I'm pissed I did too because I just got an ej22t and I would like to know if the STi downpipe and cat bolts up and gets close to my catback...

I'm running the 22t dp on my turbo GC with the 22t ... WRX dp should fit fine mated up to any wrx/sti exhaust. The 22t dp is actually about 2 inches shorter, so I actually cut and welded in a piece of pipe so it would be long enough. If the catback is a non-turbo catback, you'll need to get the flange rotated about 90 degrees, but otherwise should be fine.

But yes, if you take a wrx/sti exhaust, it will bolt right up, except for maybe one of the hangers

yeah taht sucks because I got a STi TBE and scrapped the downpipe/cat and extended the sti midpipe...

I could have kept it all and ran it on the 22t instead.

Hindsight is a *****.
