Trouble with HVAC fan.

OK so the the hot/cold works fine just the fan won't go up to 4. 1-3 work fine.

Is this a simple fuse issue or do I have to rip into the dash to replace a switch or fan?

+1 on reostat/resistor or whatever you wanna call it. Same thing was wrong with my RS when i got it.......before the crash.....

30 something greenbacks at Evergreen and 10 mins under the glovebox and you'll be all set

If the resistor goes bad, you loose 1-3 and only 4 works.

The resistor lowers the voltage fed to the fan for the lower speeds. On high, it sends a full 12V. It's not the motor or the resistor. It is probably your switch or the wiring.

um.... who cares? i don't think i've ever used 4 on my car. just think of 3 as the new 4 and leave it alone ;D

lived here 25 years and bought my car last jan. i've never really used 4. my car is usually up to temp in about 10 mins or so. and i end up turning it down cause the car gets too hot.
