There is a lesson in here somewhere:
If you see a road hazard that you think could prove costly, i.e. pot hole, frost heave, anything...report it. If you pass a pot hole and go..."good god if someone hits that full speed and doesn't see it they're EFFED!" then call it in to the city. make Portland move proactively and fix road issues the right way the first time.
example: last year when i lived over by munjoy hill, there was a freaking canyon in the middle of the road at the bottom of fox st by franklin art. you couldn't drive over it, even at low speeds. It was bad enough that if a small car didn't see it and hit it full speed I'm nearly positive it wouldn't make it back out. i passed that hole EVERY DAY. looking back i really should have reported it, because if someone totally messed up their front end because they didn't see it, it could have all been avoided so much earlier if it was reported.
