Fronty got a face lift today. Got the Hellas on, with 12ga wiring from the battery all the way in the housing to support the 100w bulbs, and Plasti dipped the chrome part of the grille "anthracite" which is a nice dark gunmetal color. I'd upload pics but imgur app doesn't really work

i think the 12ga wiring acutally boosted the hellas a bit. they made a difference against an embankment at 3:00 today, and it wasnt overcast or anything. i read on some other forum hella claimed the porvided harness would support the 100w bulbs. the harness i got was 16ga, i'd replaced the chincy fuse holder with a mini type with 14ga wire, and that got hot enough to melt in to the wire loom i had it in. so i decided to play it safe this time. from battery to the actual bulb is all 12ga. not easy cramming that size wire inside the lamp housing

After driving home in the dark from a friends house the other night I can say the Hellas really do seem better. Have to move switches around, i put it in the only empty slot, but out isn't very convenient. Tried the same type of Sylvania LED bulbs in the map lights, garbage. Coming soon will be aem panel filter, weathertech liners, front tint. Waiting for friggin Aflac to come through, my surgery was 2 months ago and no monies

Edit: switches moved, aem panel filter ordered (advances list price was as good as Amazon, plus no shipping) did something else today, don't remember. Now has anyone used a paint sealant? Is it worth it? I've waxed this beast twice already, and from what I understand it would be wash, clay, seal, wax, wax. I want to take good care of this rig as long as the methods make sense

I used Adams machine sealant. Didn't seem to hold up like I would have hoped but that was on a stage 1 OEM paint job. Haven't given my STi the treatment yet. But I will be doing the sealant with a glaze over it. It does seem to last longer than a coat of carnauba but didn't seem to last as long as companies claim it does.

Only stuff I could find locally is griots, $20 for a quart. I'll have to check Maine autocolor when I go to lee later this week. if it isn't going to last I'll just wax the hell out of it instead, a $7 tin of meguiars goes a long ways, even on such a big vehicle

Almost at 2k already. Did a hundred mile round trip to Grafton notch for a hike yesterday. 4 adults+ baby + gear, plenty of room for everyone and I got 21mpg, almost what my imp was getting. First oil change this weekend, wish me luck getting the filter off. I had to have evergreen do that on my impreza when that was new

First oil change was actually pretty easy. Not a easy as a crosstrek, but pretty close. Finally got some Aflac money from my surgery, gotta get an antique simplicity tractor functioning then I may tint the front windows. Also planning on mounting a bottle opener on one of the utilitrac rails, trailer brake controller. You know, truck stuff

Bottle opener ordered , bought a $20 dewalt water resistant tool box and mounted that to the drivers side utilitrac rail to keep tie in. No pictures yet, I'm lazy

New stuff: power door lock actuator to make the tailgate lock with the doors, might get to that this weekend, and an "I <3 yoga pants" sticker. Super jdm hella hp yo. Bottle opener rig delayed (thanks Amazon)

Still haven't got the tailgate lock done, wires are run, just need more free time. Ordered some hella trumpet horns, nut much money and had good reviews, we'll see how loud they are

Bottle opener mounted on the utilitrac rail, no pic yet, hella trumpet horns installed, had a ground come inside because I was in a hurry, got it fixed but still haven't really had a chance to try them, but when I jumped the relay earlier I almost have myself a heart attack. Have them wired so they'll work with the factory fiamms which are not quiet. Full review in a couple days, she's going back to Lee for parking brake adjustment, groaning window and plastic pieces that hate life

Lee fixed the window squeak, adjusted park brake and ordered the plastic bits that were ailing. Actually laid on the horn today, those hella trumpets are ridiculous, and are half as much as supertones. I might be getting another set for my bike

Very pleased with the hella trumpets, ordered a set for the bike too. The gf said we're probably doing a tonneau cover before winter, trying to get going on that. Planning on the truxedo lo pro qt, a buddy has one on his s10 and it suits real low, has to be opened from the inside with the gate down. Also working on details of heated mirrors and block heater. It seems just heated glass can be purchased for@30 a side, just need a switch and and a timed relay. Block heater seems more obscure. Canadian spec trucks came with the heater on the block, but no cord, but u.s. dealers can't order the part. Lame.

Yellow fog tint coming soon, ordered some inexpensive stuff with good reviews on Amazon, doing the truck and maybe Evans rex. Also doing the napa safetylight bulbs with that yellow hue, should be pretty yeller, then I need to do something about headlight bulbs, they're not bright at all. Any recommendations for a good bright white 9007 without going led or hid?
