Shotgun not driving in front of Ally again. Not sure if my anxiety can handle that. couldn't even see her head over the wheel in my rearview mirror as were doing 60 around hairpins last fall. Ally im going to bring you a couple phone books!

I hadn't decided on anything as of yet. I just want to see some good routes that we can come to an agreement on.

I kinda like the idea of a coastal drive and barbecue

but it depends, not sure we'd want to be having a mile long line going through bath.

just my .02

We don't have to go through the center of Bath to get to Popham. There are backroads that can be used, but they can be a bit on the rough side and are quite narrow in places. If a coastal drive is a serious thought then I could possibly check out the roads and see how they are. These roads are speed limit only and sharp eyes as I know a few of the people on them have younger children and there is a campground along the way.

Here is the route I was thinking of. Key is getting out of the Brunswick Walmart together then from there should be easy to stay in one line. Walmart has a good size parking lot we could all meet up at.

Biggest issue is the roads and speed. Everyone needs to drive smart.

We can plan a bit more of a tour around the area if wanted. Also if anyone was interested an attempt at Georgetown/Boothbay/Bristol could be made. Boothbay and Bristol are possible through backroads I have learned from my days of driving between Bath and Newcastle for school and work.

this route is fun but there is just so many houses. and ppl are very eager to freak out and call cops on you if your loud or a little bit fast. and unless we all pay for parking there probably won't be enough parking at the fort

so i checked out the routes posted, all look pretty good. i wish the coastal route was a bit longer, if anyone wants to make it longer feel free. But it look as if there are 4 routes. A sugarloaf route starting in waterville and heading north, i can attest that the views up 201 are amazing and the roads are fun. The coastal route starting in brunswick, shorter route and quick day, please revise. The bethel drive starting in portland, again looks fun. And then the tried and true White Mountains drive. is that it for suggestions are should i start a poll once the coastal route is revised a bit.

A ride all the way up to Jackman on 201 is very scenic. No clue how long of a drive that would be though.
